Bondage & rope safety
Being tied up can be incredibly freeing. These rules keep it that way.
Never
- ·Never put anything around the neck — not rope, not a scarf, not a collar attached to anything.
- ·Never leave a bound person alone, even for a minute.
- ·Never suspend anyone off the ground without in-person training.
Always
- ·Keep safety shears (blunt-tipped, sold for EMTs) within arm’s reach before the first knot.
- ·Leave two fingers of slack between rope and skin.
- ·Check hands and feet every few minutes. Cold, pale, blue, tingling or numb means untie now.
- ·Avoid pressure on the inside of the upper arm and the wrist bones — nerves there are easy to damage.
Start here
- ·Padded cuffs with quick-release clips are easier and safer than rope for beginners.
- ·Tie wrists in front before trying behind the back.
- ·Keep the first sessions short — 10 to 15 minutes.
